Asymmetry is very common in lips and can be easily corrected by using semi-permanent makeup to help create a more harmonious and balanced appearance to the face.

Cosmetic tattooing in Australia is the perfect way to transform thin or uneven lips or lips that have lost fullness and shape with age and are in need of volume restoration. A colour is selected from a huge range of fabulous shades to either blend with your natural lip or match your favourite lipstick colour.

In our youth, lips are soft, full, and have a great natural tone. As the ageing process begins, we start to lose the shape, contour, fullness, and colour of our lips. Lips have become a trend all on their own since Angelina Jolie made her mark in the media. Permanent makeup can enhance your current lip shape or lip shade. It can also re-shape lips, visually increase the size of lips, and adjust the shade. Fuller lips can be achieved without the use of fillers using permanent makeup. However, if you currently use fillers, you may still want to define your lip borders and enhance your overall lip colour.

Aftercare advice and post-procedure treatment will be given to you on the day, and a follow-up appointment will be made for approximately 8 weeks later.

You can be sure that all equipment used is state of the art, and that all needles come in a single, sterile, one-time-use package. Hygiene and safety is of utmost priority for the client as well as the technician.

If you suffer or are prone to cold sore breakouts at present or anytime in the past, we recommend taking either lysine or a cold sore preventative 7 to 10 days prior, as this will reduce the likelihood of cold sores appearing as a result of the lips healing.

On the day of the procedure, an anaesthetic is applied to the lips before the artist begins the consult and design process.

As the tattoo is healing, the pigment will deepen in colour, so it is best to plan your tattoo around any important events, such as weddings, birthday parties, or important business meetings. If you are unsure, please check with your consultant before booking.

The following restrictions are to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for an amazing microblading procedure.

Please read carefully:

  • Please do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heat will expand the pores.
  • Avoid heavy sunlight and especially sunburn 3 days before the procedure. The skin should not be in the process of healing before the procedure!
  • Do NOT drink coffee or anything with caffeine the day of the procedure.
  • Do NOT take Fish oil, Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen, omega-3, unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to the procedure. (Tylenol or acetaminophen is okay!)
  • Do NOT drink alcohol 24 hours before or after the procedure.

This area will take the longest to heal. The colour will be much brighter than the final colour for 7-8 days. It will then fade to no colour and re-appears after 3-6 weeks. Bepanthen Cream must be applied constantly as your lips will be very dry. Keep them moist with the Bepanthen cream, and if you suffer cold sores, use cold sore cream like Zovirax with the Bepanthen cream.

The lip colour enhancement generally lasts between 3 – 10 years; however, this depends on your skin’s chemistry, active ingredients in your skincare, and exposure to the elements. It is not recommended to have the procedure done with existing remnants of lip fillers or injections, as this will alter the result once the fillers wear off. Please allow 7 to 10 days before applying any makeup to areas treated by a cosmetic tattoo.

We cannot tattoo any part of the body whilst you are pregnant, and we do not recommend tattooing whilst breastfeeding. If you are using cosmetic injectables, such as Botox and filler, we recommend you allow the area to wear off before your tattoo treatment. If you are interested to know the best time to rebook for Botox, please consult with your artist and our injectable nurses as this varies depending on the area being treated, e.g., brows, eyeliner.

Those who would like to take a cosmetic tattoo course in Australia can do so. We have a variety of options available.
